Requirements
- Hands-on infrastructure experience, ideally in a large, multi-site organisation
- Broad technical capability across Windows Server and Active Directory, including Group Policy, DNS/DHCP and high availability
- Experience administering Microsoft Azure, Entra ID and Microsoft 365
- VMware and vCenter experience in multi-host environments
- Networking knowledge, including LAN/WAN, VPNs, switching and routing
- Firewall administration experience; Palo Alto and Cisco ASA are preferred
- Experience with enterprise storage and SAN environments
- Microsoft Remote Desktop Services experience, including published applications and session troubleshooting
- Hybrid Exchange, Exchange Online, Azure Firewall and Cisco networking experience would be useful
- Practical and reliable, with the ability to work independently, learn quickly, prioritise varied tasks and contribute with limited supervision
Responsibilities
- Provide 3rd-line support, troubleshoot incidents and resolve underlying problems
- Support Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure, Entra ID and Microsoft 365 environments
- Manage VMware infrastructure, server builds, provisioning and configuration
- Handle firewall changes, rule management and network troubleshooting
- Support patching, upgrades, infrastructure maintenance and service availability
- Complete operational and compliance tickets, and create or update SOPs and technical guides
- Work with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver tested changes and clear handovers
- Keep services running smoothly, resolve complex infrastructure issues, reduce the BAU backlog and support infrastructure changes and project delivery

We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a busy infrastructure team supporting a large, multi-site business as cloud migration and wider technology transformation progress. This is an initial six-month contract, paying up to £550 per day inside IR35. The role is based in Liverpool with a hybrid arrangement of approximately three days onsite per week. We are arranging interviews quickly, with an ASAP start.
