Requirements
- Security clearance or eligibility to obtain security clearance
- Significant experience as a Solution Architect, Infrastructure Architect, or Technology Architect in large enterprise environments
- Strong experience delivering infrastructure modernisation and transformation programmes
- Experience developing current, transition, and target-state architectures
- Proven ability to lead architecture from discovery and design through implementation and migration
- Strong understanding of architecture governance, design assurance, technical risk management, and solution evaluation
- Experience in some or all of the following areas: Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud; cloud-native platforms and platform engineering; enterprise infrastructure, networking, and connectivity; identity and access management (IAM) and Zero Trust; compute, virtualisation, storage, backup, and platform services; infrastructure as code, automation, CI/CD, and DevSecOps; cyber security architecture and operational resilience
- TOGAF or another recognised architecture certification is desirable
- Experience in financial services, government, defence, regulatory, or critical national infrastructure environments is beneficial
- Experience with Zero Trust security frameworks is useful
Responsibilities
- Produce high-level designs, solution designs, architecture roadmaps, and target-state architectures
- Translate business, operational, security, and technical requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Lead technical design workshops across infrastructure, cloud, networking, security, identity, and platform teams
- Evaluate solution options and recommend approaches based on cost, complexity, risk, feasibility, and strategic alignment
- Ensure infrastructure solutions are secure, supportable, scalable, and aligned with long-term strategic objectives
- Shape and deliver enterprise-wide infrastructure modernisation initiatives, influencing technology direction and supporting the adoption of modern platforms, cloud technologies, automation, and security-first architecture practices
