About LFS

This is an exciting opportunity to become an integral part of the team at Britain’s longest established and world-famous conservatoire for filmmakers. The school, now in its 70th anniversary year, is based in Covent Garden in the heart of London. LFS alumni include some veterans (Mike Leigh, Michael Mann, Tak Fujimoto, Ann Hui) and famous younger filmmakers including Daina Pusic, Oliver Hermanus, Babak Jalali, and the creator of End of the F**king World, Jonathan Entwistle.

LFS is one of only two film schools in the UK to have received ‘world leading’ institution status and funding from the Office for Students.

Job Summary

London Film School is looking for a proactive and hands-on Facilities Assistant to support the day-to-day operation of our busy sites in Covent Garden. This is a varied role where no two days are the same. Working closely with the Facilities Manager, you will help ensure our buildings remain safe, secure, compliant, and welcoming environments for staff, students, visitors, and contractors.

You will play a key role in maintaining our facilities, coordinating contractors, supporting health and safety compliance, and providing excellent customer service across the School.

What You’ll Do

  • Carry out routine building inspections, minor repairs, and help maintain safe, well-presented facilities.
  • Manage facilities helpdesk requests and coordinate contractors and maintenance activities across the School.
  • Support health and safety compliance, including fire safety checks, risk assessments, and waste management.
  • Set up teaching and event spaces, manage deliveries, and assist with general site logistics.
  • Help maintain site security, monitor access arrangements, and provide excellent day-to-day support to staff, students, and visitors.

If you have experience in facilities, maintenance, caretaking, property services, or a similar operational environment, we'd love to hear from you. You'll be confident carrying out basic maintenance tasks, comfortable using digital systems, and committed to delivering excellent customer service.
