Technician @ Actalent

Job Title: TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Technician will be responsible for testing components in performance and energy laboratory environments. This role involves performing testing, analyzing results, troubleshooting performance issues, and applying an understanding of appliance operations and laboratory procedures to identify root causes and solutions. The Technician will also assist in developing and documenting new test procedures and analysis methods while communicating results to product teams, supervisors, and related departments.

Responsibilities

• Perform component testing with minimal supervision.
• Plan and execute testing based on project needs and priorities.
• Analyze test results and evaluate product performance.
• Create reports documenting test results and findings.
• Troubleshoot issues and identify root causes and potential solutions.
• Provide technical insight that goes beyond the test data and reports.
• Develop, document, and improve test procedures, analysis methods, and work instructions.
• Support continuous improvement projects within the laboratory.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and facilities using 5S practices.
• Coordinate priorities and testing activities with supervisors and other technicians.
• Communicate testing results and findings to product teams and related departments.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical and electrical knowledge with the ability to disassemble an appliance.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel and/or Google Suites for data input.
• Assembly, repair, troubleshooting, and testing skills.
• Experience with hand tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Calibration/instrumentation experience.
• Understanding of voltage.
• Experience using scales/weights.
• Assembly/build experience.
• Engineering degree (required if entry-level).

Work EnvironmentThe work environment is a testing laboratory operating from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. It offers an opportunity to gain experience in a lab setting, which can lead to long-term consulting opportunities in different labs.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Saint Joseph, MI.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
