What’s the role?
This role is a Parental Leave Cover Role for a 12-month period.
You’ll join our Model Risk team, providing independent oversight and challenge across retail and non-retail credit risk models, including AIRB (PD/EAD/LGD), scorecards, provisioning and stress testing. You’ll assess model methodology, application, code, data and documentation, turning complex findings into clear, insightful assessments for key stakeholders. You’ll also manage validation activities and share your technical expertise with other members of the team.

With continued investment in the Model Risk function and a growing focus on supporting increasingly sophisticated products, models and regulatory requirements, you’ll have the opportunity to work on some of the bank’s most strategic and complex model risk challenges while building deep expertise across markets, treasury and risk disciplines. This growth also creates opportunities for career development and progression as the team continues to expand.
This is a full-time role based in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Adelaide.
What do I need?
- Strong experience in credit risk modelling or independent model validation, including IRB, provisioning scorecard models
- Advanced knowledge of credit risk, with an understanding of relevant APRA prudential standards, Basel and IFRS9
- Strong quantitative and analytical capability, with experience using tools such as SAS, R, Python, SQL and Excel
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical issues and influence stakeholders
- Strong problem solving and delivery skills, with the ability to manage validation activities and support others with technical work
