- 1-3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, warehouse operations, or a related field.
- Experience working with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum of HS Diploma or GED completed.
Work Environment
This position is based in a warehouse and production environment with office and cubicle workspace located on the production floor. The role requires working closely with operations, warehouse personnel, and other business units to support daily logistics activities. Candidates should be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and frequent interaction across teams. Fully onsite Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:30 PMAbout the Role
We are a seeing Logistics Specialist to support transportation and freight operations. This role is ideal for someone with logistics, transportation, warehouse, or supply chain experience who enjoys solving problems, analyzing data, and working cross-functionally with multiple departments. The Logistics Specialist will help coordinate shipments, monitor freight costs, support carrier relationships, and ensure products move efficiently to meet customer and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate domestic freight shipments and transportation activities.
- Provide freight quotes to internal teams and customers using carrier portals and internal resources.
- Monitor and track open orders to ensure timely shipment execution.
- Investigate and resolve freight-related issues, delays, and shipment discrepancies.
- Manage freight claims and support freight bill payment processing.
- Analyze transportation costs, carrier performance, and freight spending trends.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce transportation expenses.
- Support Procurement, Customer Service, Finance, and Operations teams with logistics-related activities.
- Process shipment transactions using MRP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Assist with routing compliance and corrective actions for misrouted shipments.
- Maintain accurate transportation records and reporting.
- Promote workplace safety and support continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional logistics and transportation duties as needed.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Monee, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
