About this role
At Parfumado, we're looking for a People & Office intern who wants to learn the full breadth of the field, from office management to HR. In a fast-growing company, you can look behind the scenes everywhere and learn a lot in a short time. You'll get real responsibility: a set of tasks you own and manage independently, with guidance from your manager. Parfumado is a fast-growing scale-up offering a fragrance subscription. Our team of around 70 people is split between an office team of about 25 and a warehouse team of about 45.
You'll make sure everyone has a pleasant, well-organised workplace and that new colleagues feel welcome from day one. What you'll learn This internship gives you a broad view of the field: you'll learn both office management and HR. You'll see up close how a fast-growing organisation works, from the first application to the last working day, and from supplier agreements to team events. You'll gain hands-on experience with recruitment, onboarding and HR administration, and a basic understanding of Dutch employment law.
At Parfumado you'll get a look at many different parts of the business, so you'll learn a lot in a short time. You'll work closely with our People & Office manager, who is also your internship supervisor. We'll have a weekly check-in and align your learning goals with your study programme's requirements. Spot a chance to improve something, such as a smarter onboarding process? Then you'll get the room to take it on yourself.
What you'll do
- You'll work across both office management and HR, so no two days are the same.
- Onboarding & offboarding You draft employment contracts for new colleagues based on our templates.
- You prepare first working days: laptop, accounts, Swapfiets and welcome package.
- You schedule the first meetings, so new colleagues know who to meet and when.
- You welcome new colleagues and are their first point of contact in their first weeks.
- You help build towards our goal to have the best onboarding ever You handle the practical side of offboarding, such as collecting equipment.
- Recruitment support You post vacancies and manage the candidate pipeline.
- You schedule interviews and send confirmations and rejections.
- Over time, you take on the first screening of CVs and join job interviews to gain experience in interviewing.
- Events & culture You organise team lunches, drinks and team building days.
- You help with bigger events, such as our annual team trip (previous editions took us to Paris, Antwerp and Vlieland): comparing venues, requesting quotes and keeping the planning on track.
- Office management You run day-to-day office operations: mail, supplies, stock and supplier relationships.
- You coordinate the daily office lunch and manage its budget.
- You make sure the office is well organised and safe, and spot opportunities to improve how things run.
- HR administration You keep personnel files up to date and process documents in our HR system.
- You prepare standard contracts and letters based on our templates.
- You record leave and sick leave in the system, supervised by the HR manager.
- You answer practical questions from colleagues, for example about employee benefits, leave or lunch.
