About this role
Your impact begins here As Process Engineer in API Manufacturing in Kalundborg, you will help bring a new product into large-scale production. You will combine your chemistry or biochemistry knowledge with process data to understand the molecule, the reactions and the purification steps, and turn that insight into stable, compliant and efficient manufacturing. As the product moves from project into operations, you will take growing ownership and help more people living with diabetes and other serious chronic diseases get the treatment they need.
- What you’ll bring You understand manufacturing at a molecular, chemical and biochemical level, take ownership and stay constructive when priorities change.
- You will typically have: A Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in biochemistry, chemistry, biotechnology, biomedicine, chemical engineering or another relevant life-science discipline.
- Relevant experience from pharmaceutical manufacturing, API production, biotechnology or another chemistry-intensive production environment.
- Practical knowledge of one or more areas such as chemical modification, protein chemistry, organic chemistry, downstream processing, purification, filtration or HPLC.
- Working knowledge of cGMP in a regulated setting.
- Strong English communication skills and the ability to share knowledge, collaborate across functions and influence decisions.
- Curiosity, a proactive approach and enjoyment in solving complex challenges.
- Useful, but not essential: Hands-on experience with deviations, investigations, change control, qualification or validation.
- Experience with data analysis to identify correlations and root causes in process data.
- What you’ll do You will strengthen product and process understanding in a state-of-the-art production environment and support the transfer of a new product from development into operations.
- Build a detailed understanding of how the molecule, chemical modification, protein chemistry and purification steps affect the final product.
- Analyse process data to find correlations and root causes, and turn the findings into practical improvements and monitoring.
- Support qualification and validation activities in line with cGMP requirements, and the implementation of new products and processes.
- Take ownership of product-related activities such as deviations, investigations, change requests, product transfers and continuous improvement.
- Share your specialist knowledge, contribute to technical decisions and help build capability in a growing team.
- Priorities may shift as the organisation moves into operations.
- You will have the chance to help shape effective ways of working and how the team supports products and processes in the future.
Who you’ll work with You will join a growing team in API Manufacturing at Novo Manufacturing Kalundborg, a leading production hub for insulins and GLP-1 analogues that support millions of people living with diabetes and other chronic diseases. Several colleagues are joining the area at the same time, so you can influence the team’s technical direction and its specialist culture from the start. You will work with specialists in production, development, quality and engineering who continuously improve how we manufacture. Together you will connect scientific insight to practical decisions, with broad exposure to product changes, development activities and manufacturing challenges.
Please note: there will be manufacturing, storage or handling of semi-finished or finished GLP-1 products in the work location (building), regardless of whether you will directly handle the products.
What you can expect here You will be supported to grow your skills while being trusted to take ownership and make your voice heard. Working across production, development, quality and engineering gives you broad experience of the value chain, and a growing team means room to build your expertise alongside colleagues who share it. Clear performance expectations help you deliver your best work and be recognised for it.
