The Sr. Claims Specialist is an experienced Risk Management professional responsible for managing and coordinating liability claims, including general liability, auto liability, premises liability, product liability, and other casualty exposures. In this role, you will evaluate claims, monitor reserves, coordinate litigation and resolution activities, support risk transfer and subrogation opportunities, and partner with Third-Party Administrators (TPAs), insurers, defense counsel, and internal business teams to help drive timely, appropriate claim outcomes. You will independently manage routine and moderately complex matters, identify opportunities to reduce loss, and serve as a technical resource to Claims Associates and business partners.

What you will be doing

Manage general liability, auto, premises, product, and other casualty claims, evaluating liability, causation, damages, exposure, and resolution strategies.

Coordinate with TPAs, insurers, investigators, experts, and defense counsel on timely investigations, effective claims handling, and resolution within established guidelines.

Manage assigned litigation from filing through resolution, partnering with defense counsel on strategy, discovery, mediation, settlement recommendations, and trial preparation.

Review reserves, monitor significant exposures and claim trends, and support actuarial reviews, reserve studies, claim-cost forecasts, and loss projections.

Evaluate indemnification, additional insured status, insurance certificates, and other risk-transfer considerations; coordinate coverage and tender opportunities with brokers and insurers.

Support assigned subrogation activities, partnering with Claims Associates and other resources to identify and pursue recoveries.

Conduct claim reviews and stewardship discussions with TPAs and claims partners, monitoring service expectations and adherence to claim-handling guidelines.

Partner with Legal, Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Safety, brokers, insurers, and other stakeholders to investigate claims, identify emerging risks, and support mitigation.

Maintain complete, accurate claim records in the Risk Management Information System (RMIS) and support reporting for insurers, auditors, leadership, and other stakeholders.

Identify and help implement improvements to claims processes, reporting, analytics, vendor performance, and workflow efficiency.

Provide daily technical guidance to Claims Associates, sharing claims expertise and established practices.
