About this role

Job Title: Engineering Test TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Engineering Test Technician supports a growing medical device contract manufacturing environment with a focus on new product introduction (NPI) and lowvolume production. In this role, you assemble and troubleshoot electromechanical systems, support test and calibration activities, and participate in cleanroom blister pack manufacturing when needed. You work on a diverse range of products, move between repetitive and nonrepetitive tasks as programs ramp, and play a key role in identifying and resolving build and quality issues.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electromechanical systems using prefabricated mechanical and electrical components, ensuring builds meet quality and specification requirements.
  • Troubleshoot electromechanical assemblies to identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and integration issues.
  • Support test and calibration activities for electromechanical systems and related equipment, following established procedures and documentation.
  • Identify and escalate quality issues, bill of materials (BOM) discrepancies, and process deviations observed during assembly and test.
  • Perform occasional soldering tasks on a variety of products as part of electromechanical builds, using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Work in cleanroom blister pack manufacturing operations when required, following gowning, PPE, and cleanliness protocols.
  • Shift between cleanroom blister pack assembly and nonrepetitive NPI work within the same day, maintaining productivity and attention to detail.
  • Follow regulated manufacturing practices and documentation standards consistent with medical device and aerospace environments.
  • Use hand tools and standard manufacturing equipment safely and effectively during assembly, test, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to support NPI builds, provide feedback on manufacturability, and help improve processes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to all safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines in the manufacturing and cleanroom environments.

Essential Skills

  • 45 years of handson experience with electromechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build electromechanical assemblies using prefabricated mechanical and electrical components.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues in electromechanical builds, including quality and BOM discrepancies.
  • Experience working onsite in a manufacturing and cleanroom environment, following established procedures and cleanliness standards.
  • Prior experience in regulated manufacturing environments, such as medical device or aerospace production.
  • Proficiency using hand tools and standard manufacturing equipment during assembly and test activities.
  • Ability to work effectively on both repetitive production tasks and nonrepetitive NPI builds, adjusting to changing priorities.
  • Comfort working within documented processes and quality systems in a regulated environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Soldering experience on electromechanical builds, including occasional soldering work without microscope support.
  • Exposure to medical device manufacturing processes and quality requirements.
  • Familiarity with regulated environments and compliance practices in industries such as medical device or aerospace.
  • Ability to collaborate with a stable team of technicians and engineers, contributing to a strong technical culture.
  • Interest in longterm opportunities as programs expand and transition from NPI to production.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based onsite at a manufacturing facility that supports both electromechanical assembly and cleanroom blister pack operations. You work in a regulated environment with established processes typical of medical device and aerospace manufacturing. The position involves frequent use of hand tools and standard manufacturing equipment, as well as participation in test and calibration activities. Cleanroom work requires appropriate PPE and gowning, and adherence to cleanliness and contaminationcontrol procedures. You may move between cleanroom blister pack assembly and nonrepetitive NPI electromechanical work within the same day. The team offers a stable technician culture, diverse product exposure without singleline monotony, and the potential to transition into longterm opportunities as programs grow.
