About Us

At TogetherWork, we empower mission-driven organizations with innovative software solutions that help them operate more efficiently and achieve their goals. Our portfolio of technology solutions supports organizations across a variety of industries, including nonprofits, associations, and higher education.

LegFi, a TogetherWork company, provides financial management technology and services designed to support Greek life organizations and their unique operational needs. Through LegFi Pro, we help clients manage complex accounting responsibilities, maintain accurate financial records, and gain greater visibility into their financial health.

We're passionate about combining technology, accounting expertise, and exceptional client service to help the organizations we serve succeed.

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Client Accounting Lead to help deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality accounting services to our LegFi Pro clients while providing day-to-day leadership and support to our Client Accounting team.

This is a hands-on, client-facing leadership role that combines advanced accounting expertise, client relationship management, and team mentorship. You'll serve as a trusted resource for clients, helping them understand their financial statements, navigate accounting challenges, and make informed financial decisions.

You'll also act as a key partner to the Sr. Manager, Client Accounting, providing technical guidance, reviewing financial deliverables, supporting client escalations, and helping fellow accountants work more efficiently and effectively.

The role is a blend of two responsibilities: supporting and guiding the Client Accounting team and managing a limited portfolio of clients. The majority of your time will focus on helping the broader team deliver accurate financial information, resolve complex accounting issues, and maintain strong client relationships.

This is a leadership position without direct people-management responsibility. You'll influence team performance through coaching, collaboration, technical expertise, and accountability rather than formal supervisory authority.

The ideal candidate is a strong accountant who is equally comfortable analyzing financial statements, communicating with clients, and helping colleagues navigate complex accounting challenges.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a primary day-to-day resource for Client Accountants, providing guidance on complex accounting questions, financial reporting, reconciliations, and client-specific requirements.
  • Review and support the preparation of accurate monthly financial statements, general ledger activity, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and month-end close deliverables.
  • Act as a trusted accounting resource for clients, helping them understand financial results, identify budget variances, and make informed financial decisions.
  • Support client escalations and participate in business reviews, providing clear explanations of financial information and recommendations for improvement.
  • Coach, mentor, and train Client Accountants, helping strengthen technical accounting skills, improve workflows, and maintain consistent service quality.
  • Partner closely with the Sr. Manager, Client Accounting, to monitor team workloads, identify operational challenges, and support timely completion of client deliverables.
  • Help lead team meetings, coordinate priorities, and provide day-to-day guidance to improve collaboration and team effectiveness.
  • Review accounting work completed by Internal Operations, identify discrepancies, and provide constructive feedback to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Coordinate with Internal Operations on billing, budgeting, bank reconciliations, and other accounting activities performed on behalf of clients.
  • Maintain and improve standard accounting procedures, internal controls, and client-specific documentation to support accurate and consistent financial reporting.
  • Identify recurring accounting issues, process inefficiencies, and opportunities to streamline workflows and improve operational performance.
  • Manage a limited portfolio of assigned LegFi Pro clients, including financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end close, and ongoing accounting support.
  • Maintain strong client relationships by providing responsive communication, resolving concerns, and ensuring financial information is delivered accurately and on time.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new Client Accountants, helping them become familiar with accounting procedures, systems, and client expectations.
  • Adapt to evolving accounting systems, technology, and workflows while supporting process improvements across the team.
  • Maintain confidentiality, exercise sound professional judgment, and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 3–5 years of professional accounting experience, with strong expertise in financial reporting, general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing, reviewing, and taking responsibility for accurate financial statements and accounting deliverables.
  • Experience working directly with clients to explain financial results, discuss budget variances, and provide accounting recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting practices, internal controls, and reconciliation processes.
  • Experience managing accounting responsibilities for multiple clients, accounts, or complex financial operations.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements, identify discrepancies, and communicate findings clearly to both accounting and non-accounting audiences.
  • Strong client relationship management skills, including the ability to navigate challenging conversations and resolve complex accounting concerns.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to coach colleagues, provide constructive feedback, and support team success without direct management authority.
  • Experience working with accounting or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and adapting to evolving technology and processes.
  • Working proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly and professionally.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain high-quality work in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
  • A collaborative, service-oriented mindset with a genuine interest in helping clients and colleagues succeed.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience in public accounting, outsourced accounting, or a professional services environment supporting multiple clients.
  • Previous experience as a Senior Accountant, Accounting Lead, or similar role involving team mentorship or technical oversight.
  • Experience coaching, training, or supporting the development of other accounting professionals.
  • Background in nonprofit accounting, including familiarity with nonprofit financial reporting, tax considerations, and Form 990.
  • Experience serving Greek life organizations, fraternities, sororities, or the higher education market.
  • Familiarity with Sage accounting systems, including Sage MAS 500, or comparable ERP platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Monday.com or similar workflow and project management tools.
  • Experience improving accounting processes, documenting standard procedures, or supporting accounting system transitions.

The Company offers a comprehensive employee benefits program, including:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance options
  • 100% employer-paid short-term and long-term disability insurance
  • 100% employer-paid basic life and AD&D insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan with a 100% company match up to 4%
  • Flexible paid personal/vacation time built on mutual trust and accountability
  • 10 sick days annually
  • 10 company-paid holidays
  • 12 weeks paid parental leave
