New Oaks Academy at Belmont is seeking energetic, collaborative, and growth-minded teachers to join our team. Our diverse student population includes individuals with emotional disturbance, intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and other neurodivergent needs.
About New Oaks Academy
New Oaks Academy is a licensed private school within Belmont Behavioral Health System. We serve students receiving inpatient psychiatric care by delivering a structured, supportive, and inclusive academic environment. Our small class sizes and high staff-to-student ratio allow for individualized attention and a focus on both academic and social-emotional growth.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop and implement lessons aligned with state standards and tailored to students' individual needs.
- Create an engaging, structured classroom environment that promotes consistency, routine, and student participation through experiential learning.
- Collaborate with Co-Teachers or Education Assistants weekly (every Monday or Friday) to ensure instructional alignment and classroom cohesion.
- Work closely with interdisciplinary teams—including clinical, nursing, social work, and medical staff—to support the holistic development of each student.
- Lead Special Education case management in partnership with the Special Education team, including IEP development, tracking, and compliance with state and federal laws.
- Support implementation of SDIs, modifications, and accommodations, and communicate progress effectively to relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in regular professional development, 1:1 coaching, and collaborative planning sessions provided by the school.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or a closely related field.
- Valid Pennsylvania Teacher Certification in the relevant content area.
