About this role
Desktop Support TechnicianWe are looking for an IT Support Technician to support computer systems within an enterprise engineering and lab environment. This is a hands-on support role working with a mix of current and legacy technology, including Windows and Linux-based systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on IT support for computers, workstations, and related hardware
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and operating system issues
- Support Windows-based systems as well as Linux/Unix environments
- Work directly with end users to diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and replace computer hardware as needed
- Support IT systems used within engineering and lab environments
- Follow established security procedures, corporate policies, and government requirements
- Document issues and provide strong customer service throughout the support process
Required SkillsCandidates should have 1-2 years of IT support experience in a medium to large enterprise environment and experience with at least twoof the following:
- Desktop / computer hardware support
- IT customer service or end-user support
- Windows operating systems
- Hardware and software troubleshooting
Nice to Have
- Linux experience, particularly Red Hat or Ubuntu
- Experience supporting Solaris or other Unix environments
- Previous experience working in an engineering, lab, aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated environment
- Active or previous security clearance

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
