Job Title: Sheet Metal TechnicianJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Technician to join our team for a long-term project. You will be responsible for installing both high and low-pressure duct systems and hangers. This role requires precision and expertise in ductwork installation.
Responsibilities
- Install hangers by hanging sheet metal straps from pre-installed inserts in concrete decks or trapeze strut hangers.
- Perform high-pressure duct installations using TDF/TDC flange rectangular duct connections and make necessary tap cuts.
- Handle low-pressure duct installations by cutting and fitting spiral ductwork and fittings.
Essential Skills
- At least 5 years of experience in duct installation.
- Proficiency in sheet metal, HVAC systems, and blueprint reading.
- OSHA 10 certification or higher.
- Scissor lift certification.
- Ability to work with hand tools such as impact drill, wrench, pliers, channel locks, vice grips, 9/16ths sockets with impact adapter, and screwdrivers.
- Cut level 5 gloves required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Journeyman card is a plus.
- Experience with harness and retractable equipment.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Background in construction, commercial, or industrial projects.

Work EnvironmentThe project is located at Nationwide Children's Hospital, with a schedule of Monday to Thursday from 6 am to 3 pm, and Fridays from 6 am to either noon or 3 pm, depending on project demands. Occasional weekend work may be required. The work environment mandates the use of PPE including type 2 hard hats with chin straps, cut level 5 gloves, high-visibility clothing, harness and retractable gear, steel-toed boots, and safety glasses.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
