EDM Operator @ Aerotek

Job Title: EDM OperatorJob DescriptionAs an EDM Operator, you will work in a dynamic production environment with a schedule of Monday through Thursday from 7 AM to 5:30 PM and Friday from 7 AM to 3:30 PM for the day shift, or Monday through Thursday from 5:30 PM to 4 AM and Friday from 3:30 PM to 1 AM for the night shift. You will be responsible for setting up and operating electro-discharge machines (EDM) to produce high-quality turbine engine aerospace parts.

Responsibilities

• Load and set up parts in the machine.
• Inspect parts for quality while orders are running.
• Setup and operate EDM machines, both conventional and 5-axis.
• Perform quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Troubleshoot and fix defects in machinery.
• Prepare logs and records to document machine operation and daily production.
• Set up and switch jobs as required, with training provided.
• Maintain a production efficiency of more than 98% daily.

Essential Skills

• Basic computer skills.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Experience with CNC or other metal machine operations.
• Proficiency with measurement devices such as micrometers and calipers.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Eligibility to work in the US with proper documentation.
• Ability to read and write English.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Aerospace experience is a plus.
• Previous EDM experience is advantageous.

Work EnvironmentThe work environment is a production facility with over 150 EDM machines, most of which are in temperature-controlled areas. You will need to be comfortable working in confined spaces and lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. The noise level may be loud, and employees are required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cincinnati, OH.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
