Job Title: Fire Watch TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Fire Watch Technician supports welders on a construction project by continuously monitoring welding activities, maintaining awareness of the surroundings, and helping ensure that safety protocols are followed at all times on a data center site in Sterling, VA.

Responsibilities

• Monitor welders on site throughout welding operations to help ensure a safe work area.
• Maintain constant awareness of surroundings, including identifying potential fire hazards and unsafe conditions.
• Follow established safety protocols and procedures related to fire watch and construction activities.
• Communicate promptly with welders and site personnel if safety concerns or hazards are observed.
• Support general labor tasks as directed, while keeping fire watch duties as the primary focus.
• Ensure reliable attendance and punctuality for all scheduled shifts from Monday through Friday.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly work area around welding and construction activities.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience in construction or general labor environments.
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness in active work areas.
• Ability to consistently follow safety protocols and instructions.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality for all scheduled shifts.
• Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods while monitoring welding activities.
• Clear communication skills to report hazards or concerns to welders and site personnel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience working on data center or similar large-scale construction projects.
• Familiarity with basic fire safety practices and hazard recognition.
• Ability to work collaboratively with welders and other construction team members.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based on an active data center construction project in Sterling, VA. You will work on site alongside welders and other construction personnel in a fast-paced, industrial environment that requires strict adherence to safety protocols. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, approximately 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the need to remain alert and on your feet for extended periods. Appropriate workwear suitable for a construction site, including sturdy footwear and any required safety gear, is expected.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Dulles, VA.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
