Service Technician @ Aerotek

Job Title: Service TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Service Technician installs, maintains, and repairs packaging and processing equipment used in food manufacturing facilities. This is a first-shift, direct-hire field service role with travel to customer sites, where you will ensure equipment runs reliably, perform preventive maintenance, and deliver an excellent customer experience. You will receive comprehensive training in both the warehouse and the field before working independently.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and repair packaging and processing equipment at food manufacturing facilities.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
• Visit 24 customer sites per day to verify proper equipment operation and ensure a positive customer experience.
• Diagnose mechanical problems using hand tools, blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Accurately document service calls, maintenance activities, and repairs in computer-based systems.
• Prepare and submit expense reports and service documentation in a timely and organized manner.
• Travel at least 70% of the time to local and domestic customer sites, primarily in NJ, PA, DE, and MD, with occasional longer-distance travel as needed.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers to explain work performed, recommend follow-up actions, and ensure satisfaction.
• Safely operate and care for the company-provided service vehicle, tools, and equipment.

Essential Skills

• Proven mechanical skills with hands-on experience in maintenance, repair, or assembly of industrial or manufacturing equipment.
• Field service or service-related experience in a technical or mechanical role.
• Experience with troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance and maintenance repair tasks on industrial equipment.
• Strong communication skills, including clear verbal communication and basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
• Capability to lift up to 70 lbs and work safely with hand tools and industrial equipment.
• Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record for operating a company vehicle.
• Ability and willingness to travel at least 70% of the time to local and domestic customer sites.
• Ability to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and adhere to customer site requirements.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Harrisburg, PA.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $75000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
