Systems Specialist @ Actalent

Our client in Boardman/Hermiston, OR is currently hiring for a Systems Specialist I - Building Automation Systems (BMS). This position is a fully onsite opportunity supporting data center projects in the Boardman and Hermiston areas. The ideal candidate will have experience troubleshooting HVAC systems, supporting building automation systems, and performing electrical and mechanical diagnostics in mission-critical environments. • $27.00 - $34.00/hour (depending on experience, technical knowledge, relevant job titles, and overall qualifications)

• 100% Onsite

Schedule

• Standard Monday-Friday schedule (40+ hours per week)
• Additional hours may be available based on project demands

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC, electrical, and mechanical system issues.
• Perform HVAC system testing, startup activities, and operational verification.
• Support installation, commissioning, and service of Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS).
• Complete service calls, warranty work, and preventative maintenance activities.
• Communicate with customers and internal teams regarding system performance, repairs, and recommendations.
• Document work completed and follow all site-specific safety requirements.
• Support critical facility and data center operations.

Qualification Requirements

• Experience troubleshooting HVAC systems.
• Exposure to Building Automation Systems (BAS) or Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Experience performing electrical and mechanical diagnostics.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and system information.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work onsite within data center environments.
• Experience with HVAC controls, commissioning, testing, or service work is highly preferred.

Disqualifiers

• No HVAC troubleshooting experience.
• No exposure to BAS/BMS or HVAC control systems.
• No experience diagnosing electrical or mechanical equipment.
• Inability to work onsite in Boardman/Hermiston project locations.
• Limited customer-facing or field service experience.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $34.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
