This position is ideal for a pharmacy technician who is detail-oriented, committed to quality, and interested in developing advanced sterile compounding skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare sterile compounded medications and pre-filled syringes under pharmacist supervision using proper aseptic techniques.
  • Accurately measure, calculate, and verify medication ingredients to ensure correct dosages, concentrations, and volumes.
  • Maintain compliance with USP and USP standards within cleanroom and sterile compounding environments.
  • Perform quality checks and visual inspections to confirm product integrity, accuracy, and adherence to regulatory and internal standards.
  • Complete detailed documentation, including compounding records, lot numbers, expiration dates, and batch logs, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Operate and maintain sterile compounding equipment, ensuring proper calibration, functionality, and cleanliness.
  • Monitor inventory levels of medications, sterile supplies, and related materials to support efficient workflow and prevent shortages.
  • Adhere to pharmacy policies, safety procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations governing sterile compounding practices.

  • Assist with process improvement efforts and quality initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and patient safety.

  • Prior experience in IV compounding or sterile compounding environments.
  • Compounding experience at any level, from entry-level (05 months) through advanced (4+ years), with increased responsibility and pay potential aligned to experience.
  • Non-sterile compounding experience, with a strong preference for candidates who also have sterile compounding exposure.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow standard operating procedures and regulatory guidelines.
  • Interest in completing in-house compounding training programs to advance skills and earning potential.

Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a dedicated compounding and fulfillment facility rather than a retail pharmacy setting. You will work primarily in a cleanroom and sterile compounding environment, following USP and USP standards and using specialized sterile compounding equipment. The role operates on a second shift schedule, typically from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., supporting late-day and evening production needs.
