Distribution Designer @ Actalent

Job Title: Distribution DesignerJob DescriptionThis role focuses on designing and supporting electric power distribution systems within the power delivery industry. You will contribute to grid hardening, make-ready projects, and distribution design initiatives while working closely with engineers and project teams. Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of electric distribution systems for power delivery projects.
• Contribute to grid hardening and make-ready projects by preparing and reviewing distribution design plans.
• Apply distribution engineering principles to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient power delivery.
• Use specialized software tools such as Katapult, PoleForeman, and GDT (Entergy software) to prepare and modify distribution designs, when applicable.
• Collaborate with engineers and other team members to gather project requirements and implement design solutions.
• Review existing distribution infrastructure and recommend design improvements to enhance system performance.
• Ensure that design work complies with relevant standards, guidelines, and project specifications.
• Participate in ongoing learning and development to expand knowledge of electric distribution systems and industry practices.
• Demonstrate a strong willingness to grow within the electric distribution industry and take on increasing levels of responsibility over time.

Essential Skills

• 13 years of experience in distribution design or distribution engineering in the power delivery industry.
• Experience working in the electric distribution space, including exposure to grid hardening, make-ready, or related power distribution projects.
• Understanding of power distribution and power delivery concepts and practices.
• Background in engineering, electrical design, or distribution engineering.
• Willingness to grow and develop within the electric distribution industry.
• For candidates with a bachelor's degree in engineering, 01 years of experience is acceptable with a strong interest in learning and development.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience using Katapult for distribution design work.
• Experience using PoleForeman for pole loading and distribution design analysis.
• Experience using GDT (Entergy software) for power delivery and distribution projects.
• Bachelors degree in engineering is preferred, especially for candidates with 01 years of experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow engineering standards and project specifications.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and project stakeholders.

Work EnvironmentThis is an office-based position with a standard schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. You will work in a professional engineering and design environment using specialized software tools such as Katapult, PoleForeman, and GDT (Entergy software) to support power delivery and distribution projects. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spring, TX.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
