Looking for a nursery role with outstanding benefits, meaningful development and more opportunities to take learning outdoors?

Recruit by Nature is recruiting qualified Nursery Practitioners for a countryside nursery in West Grinstead, near Horsham.

With four vacancies available, we welcome practitioners holding a full and relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification who enjoy nurturing children’s curiosity, creativity and independence.

You’ll support children aged three months to five years in a nature-rich setting where child-led learning, outdoor exploration and creative experiences are part of everyday life.

Your salary and benefits

  • £26,500–£30,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
  • Welcome bonus of up to £1,000, subject to eligibility and payment terms.
  • 80% childcare discount, subject to the scheme’s terms.
  • 33 days’ annual leave, including bank holidays.
  • Fully funded further education opportunities.
  • International training and professional development opportunities.
  • Access to a training academy and mentoring.
  • Health cash plan and Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Staff socials, reward schemes and long-service recognition.

A different kind of nursery environment

This setting combines the EYFS with a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach, encouraging children to explore their interests, develop ideas and learn through meaningful experiences.

Outdoor learning and creative spaces give you opportunities to move beyond routine activities and contribute your own ideas. Previous Forest School or Reggio Emilia experience is welcome, but not essential.

Your role

You will

  • Provide safe, attentive and nurturing care.
  • Support children’s individual routines, wellbeing and development.
  • Create engaging indoor and outdoor experiences that encourage play, exploration and independence.
  • Observe children’s progress and contribute to learning records and planning.
  • Build warm, professional relationships with parents and carers.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver consistent, high-quality care.
  • Participate in nature-based and outdoor learning activities.
  • Follow the EYFS framework, safeguarding procedures and nursery policies.

About you

You will need

  • A full and relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification.
  • An understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding responsibilities.
  • A caring, reliable and collaborative approach.
  • Enthusiasm for child-led, creative and outdoor learning.
  • The ability to travel reliably to West Grinstead, RH13 8LY.

Previous nursery experience would be valuable. We are interested in your approach, enthusiasm and commitment to children’s development—not whether you already know a particular educational approach.

Hours and location

Permanent, full-time: 40 hours per week on a rota.

The nursery is in West Grinstead, near Horsham. Specific shifts and room allocation will be discussed during recruitment.
