Interim Accounts Payable Assistant @ Robertson Bell

Are you an experienced Accounts Payable professional with strong Excel skills looking for a part-time opportunity? We’re recruiting for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join a busy finance team on a temporary basis, with the potential to transfer to a fixed-term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, has exceptional attention to detail and is confident managing a varied accounts payable workload.

The Role

• Pay: £21–£23 per hour Umbrella
• Hours: 3 days per week, 7 hours per day
• Working pattern: Hybrid, with 1 day per week on-site
• Location: A short walk from Lambeth North station
• Start date: ASAP
• Contract: Temporary initially, with the potential to transfer to a fixed-term contract

Key Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and employee expenses accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare payment runs for staff and volunteers.
• Process supplier payments and issue remittance advice.
• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies.
• Monitor the accounts payable inbox and respond to supplier and internal queries.
• Assist with occasional international payments.
• Identify and monitor direct debit payments on a monthly basis.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure processes are followed consistently.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience in an accounts payable or purchase ledger position.
• Strong, up-to-date Excel skills, including lookups, sorting, pivot tables and manipulating data.
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work.
• The ability to follow established processes and manage tasks accurately.
• Good communication skills and the confidence to handle supplier and internal queries.
• The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
