Veracious Talent Partners are partnering with a large, established organisation in Peterborough to recruit a Management Accountant.
This is an opportunity for a part-qualified accountant to join a business with a portfolio of well-known broadcasting brands and plenty of potential for development. You’ll take ownership of key reporting activities, build relationships across the business and gain experience within a sizeable finance function.
Working closely with the Finance Manager, you’ll manage month-end reporting for revenue and associated costs, ensuring the numbers are accurate and the drivers behind performance are clearly understood. You’ll investigate variances, highlight risks and opportunities and provide analysis to support budgeting and forecasting.
Cost reporting is a key part of the role. The business needs someone with a strong grounding in this area who is comfortable working independently, investigating queries and taking responsibility for delivering accurate reporting to deadlines.
Key areas of the role will include:
- Taking ownership of month-end reporting for revenue and related costs, contributing to the wider P&L.
- Analysing performance against budgets and forecasts, providing clear commentary on movements and trends.
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting across multiple broadcasting brands.
- Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, with particular responsibility for accrued and deferred revenue.
- Managing royalty reporting and associated returns, supporting audit requirements and maintaining accurate records.
- Overseeing work delivered by the offshore finance team, ensuring outputs are accurate and completed on time.
- Building relationships with budget holders, providing financial insight and helping resolve queries.
- Identifying practical improvements to reporting processes and supporting wider finance projects.
You’ll be a part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) with experience in management accounting and a good background in cost reporting.
You should be comfortable managing your own workload, investigating discrepancies and following issues through to resolution. Strong Excel skills and attention to detail are important, alongside the confidence to explain financial information clearly and work with stakeholders outside finance.
