A welcoming and supportive primary school in Gillingham is seeking a dedicated Intervention Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced TA who is passionate about helping children reach their full potential through targeted academic support.
The successful candidate will work with pupils across KS1 and KS2, delivering focused intervention groups in English and Maths, while also providing additional support to Year 6 pupils preparing for SATs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver small-group interventions in English and Maths to support pupil progress across KS1 and KS2.
- Provide targeted Year 6 intervention sessions to help pupils build confidence and prepare for SATs assessments.
- Work closely with class teachers to identify learning gaps and implement effective intervention programmes.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff on intervention outcomes.
- Adapt learning activities to meet the needs of individual pupils and support varying abilities.
- Encourage pupil engagement, confidence and independence within a positive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of the KS1 and KS2 curriculum, particularly Maths and English.
- Experience delivering intervention groups and supporting pupil attainment.
- Confidence supporting Year 6 pupils with SATs preparation.
- Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
- A proactive, enthusiastic and nurturing approach to supporting learning.
