Salary: £35,000–£36,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Hours: 7am start, 9.5 hours per day
We’re recruiting two experienced Transport Planners to join an established logistics business in Norwich.
You’ll help keep a busy transport operation running smoothly, planning cost-effective collections and deliveries while maintaining excellent customer service.
Your responsibilities
- Plan daily routes, collections and deliveries.
- Allocate drivers, vehicles and trailers to maximise fleet efficiency.
- Ensure schedules comply with drivers’ hours and Working Time Regulations.
- Use transport management systems and customer portals to manage bookings.
- Communicate with drivers and customers, resolving delays and operational issues.
- Coordinate vehicle availability and maintenance with the workshop.
- Prepare next-day schedules and arrange additional driver cover when required.
What you’ll need
- Previous experience in transport planning or a similar haulage or logistics role.
- Knowledge of drivers’ hours, tachograph rules and Working Time Regulations.
- Experience using transport management systems.
- Good geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
- Strong organisation, communication and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to prioritise workloads in a busy environment.
