Position Responsibilities

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated, customer-focused AI Product Manager to join Deltek’s growing AI Center of Excellence and deliver internal AI-powered products and solutions. You will bridge internal stakeholder requirements, Agentic AI capabilities, and engineering execution to create impactful AI-driven experiences. The role requires solid product management fundamentals, a working understanding of AI/ML technologies, and the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.

You will own the roadmap and delivery for assigned AI products, features, or product areas. That includes writing PRDs, defining personas, user stories and epics, running scrum calls, and driving delivery from kickoff to release. You will work closely with AI data scientists, engineers, designers, and business stakeholders. This role reports to the Senior Director, AI Solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Vision

• Contribute to the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for assigned AI-powered products and execute against them.
• Identify business opportunities where AI can create measurable value and bring them forward with supporting analysis.
• Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer discovery to inform product decisions.
• Define product goals, KPIs, and success metrics for assigned products and track progress against them.

Requirements, Personas & User Stories

• Author Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) covering problem statement, goals and KPIs, functional and non-functional requirements, process flow, dependencies, risks, and open questions; publish and maintain them in Confluence.
• Define personas and document current-state and future-state processes with internal customers and cross-functional teams.
• Write user stories and acceptance criteria that are clear, testable, and ready for engineering; validate them with business users.
• Work with the AI/ML team to define quality criteria and test approaches for AI outputs, such as grounding, accuracy, traceability, and usable first drafts.
• Specify human-in-the-loop review and governance controls for AI outputs before they reach customers.

Epics, Backlog & Delivery Management

• Define epics and break them into stories and tasks in Jira; keep the epic-level roadmap and boards current.
• Prioritize and maintain the backlog for assigned products based on customer impact and business objectives.
• Lead scrum calls: stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, demos, and retrospectives, acting as product owner or scrum master as needed.
• Drive delivery end to end, from kickoff to release. Manage scope, timelines, dependencies, risks, and blockers across Engineering, Technology, Legal, and business teams.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing, product releases, and rollout, and track the delivered outcome against the agreed KPIs.

AI/ML Product Management

• Partner with AI/ML teams to understand model capabilities, limitations, and performance metrics.
• Document requirements for model training, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Track model and product performance and recommend improvements based on customer feedback and data.

Stakeholder Management

• Communicate product progress, risks, and updates to stakeholders and, with guidance, to senior leadership.
• Align cross-functional partners around product priorities and business outcomes.
• Prepare product updates, business case inputs, and ROI analyses.

Internal Customer Focus

• Gather customer feedback and translate insights into product enhancements.
• Analyze product usage, customer behavior, and market trends.
• Drive adoption and customer satisfaction through data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Data Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of Product Management experience.
• 1+ years working on AI, Machine Learning, Generative AI, or data-driven products.
• Demonstrated experience writing PRDs, personas, user stories, acceptance criteria, and epics.
• Hands-on experience running scrum ceremonies and driving cross-functional delivery with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Working understanding of AI/ML concepts, including supervised learning, NLP, LLMs, recommendation systems, and predictive analytics.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Data Science, UX, and Business stakeholders.
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence, or similar backlog and documentation tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Exposure to Agentic AI, Generative AI, LLMs, Claude, Copilots, agents, RAG architectures, or conversational AI platforms.
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration and low-code automation platforms such as n8n.
• Familiarity with Cursor AI, AWS Bedrock, Azure AI, OpenAI, AWS AI/ML, Google Vertex AI, or similar platforms.
• Awareness of AI governance, model monitoring, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience contributing to the launch of enterprise AI-native products.
