Project Engineer III
Summary: The Project Engineer III leads aerospace product development projects from concept through production. This role works with engineering, manufacturing, and customers to ensure products meet technical requirements, schedules, and certification standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering projects through design, testing, certification, and production.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to meet project goals and deadlines.
- Create and review engineering drawings, models, and technical documents.
- Oversee product testing, analysis, and certification activities.
- Resolve technical issues and support manufacturing processes.
- Work directly with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Communicate project status, risks, and solutions to leadership.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (Masters preferred).
- 5+ years of aerospace or related engineering experience.
- 3+ years of experience leading new product development projects.
- Experience with aircraft qualification and certification processes.
- Ability to create and review engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Experience preparing engineering and certification documentation.
- Strong leadership and project coordination skills.
- Knowledge of aircraft systems, fluid systems, or thermal/mechanical systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with aircraft fluid systems.
- Environmental and qualification testing experience.
- Knowledge of AS9145/APQP processes.
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience.
- CATIA V5 experience.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability.
- Experience mentoring engineers.
- Experience supporting AS9100 or customer audits.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of BURBANK, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $130000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.health dental vision 401k
