Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Carries out preventive maintenance programs for all material handling equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation and maximize useful life of the equipment.
- Reviews daily Preventive Maintenance Check Forms completed by warehouse associates and makes general equipment repairs.
- Identifies existing or potential building and equipment issues and makes recommendations to Property and Maintenance Manager.
- Performs general maintenance and repairs of building and facilities which may include cosmetic, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and carpentry work.
- Maintains logs and documentation on maintenance and repairs.
- Complies with OSHA and other appropriate standards.
- Purchases supplies and parts from approved suppliers as authorized by the Property and Maintenance Manager.
Marginal Functions
- Assists with special projects or other assignments as required and based on level of expertise.
Job Specifications
- 1. High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2. Minimum of 5 years prior experience in material handling equipment and/or building maintenance based on position needs.
- 3. Unexpired driver's license, good MVR and ability to travel locally and regionally as needed.
- 4. Unafraid of heights and able to work on elevated platform.
- 5. Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- 6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.
- 7. Able to reach, climb, bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
- 8. Strong technical and problem solving skills.
- 9. Proficient in reading electrical schematics.
- 10. Experience in welding, preferred.
