About this role
About the Opportunity
At Fleet Farm, effective learning supports the people who serve our customers every day. We're looking for a leader who can turn business needs into practical training solutions—someone equally comfortable setting priorities, building an eLearning module, facilitating a workshop, and evaluating results.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity. You'll guide and develop training professionals while remaining directly involved in instructional design, content development, LMS administration, and training delivery. You'll help bring greater focus, consistency, and measurable impact to learning across the enterprise.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Shape the Learning Strategy
- Develop and maintain an annual training roadmap aligned with business priorities, operational needs, and available resources.
- Partner with Human Resources, store and distribution leadership, and subject matter experts to identify skill gaps and prioritize solutions.
- Review existing programs and learning paths to determine what should be refreshed, simplified, consolidated, or retired.
- Manage projects, stakeholders, timelines, budgets, and deliverables; communicate progress and set realistic expectations.
Design and Deliver Learning That Works
- Personally create and update eLearning, instructional videos, job aids, reference guides, facilitator materials, and instructor-led programs.
- Develop practical onboarding, customer service, product knowledge, selling skills, operational, compliance, and leadership training.
- Use adult learning principles, microlearning, and just-in-time resources to make training engaging, accessible, and relevant.
- Facilitate sessions and train-the-trainer programs for audiences ranging from frontline Team Members to organizational leaders.
- Build customized internal content where it adds value and leverage external solutions when appropriate.
Own Learning Technology and Measurement
- Administer and optimize Docebo, including assignments, learning plans, completion tracking, reporting, and user experience.
- Use authoring tools and emerging technologies to develop scalable, effective training materials.
- Establish training KPIs, evaluate learner feedback and knowledge retention, and connect learning initiatives to operational outcomes.
- Work with HR and operational partners to improve training completion, follow-through, and continuous improvement.
Lead and Develop the Team
- Coach and develop direct report(s), set priorities, review work quality, and support strong execution.
- Balance delegation and team development with active involvement in creating, administering, and delivering training.
WHAT YOU"LL BRING
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Communications, Organizational Development, Adult Learning, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of training and development experience, including curriculum development, program implementation, and evaluation.
- Hands-on instructional design, eLearning development, and instructor-led facilitation experience.
- Experience administering an LMS and using learning data to improve training programs.
- Strong project management, analytical, communication, presentation, and cross-functional partnership skills.
- Ability to lead multiple priorities independently, exercise sound judgment, and learn new technology quickly.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience supporting large operational or hourly workforces in retail, hospitality, manufacturing, healthcare, banking, or similar environments.
- Experience with Docebo and authoring or media tools such as Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Photoshop, or comparable platforms.
- Experience with microlearning, blended learning, leadership development, and train-the-trainer programs.
- Experience supervising or mentoring training professionals; relevant instructional design, adult learning, or facilitation certifications.
- Familiarity with leadership development approaches such as DISC, CliftonStrengths, emotional intelligence, or situational leadership.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Team Members receive focused, practical learning at the right time. Leaders have useful tools to coach and develop their teams. Training priorities are clear, content stays current, and progress can be measured—not simply by courses completed, but by improvements in readiness, consistency, and performance.
