Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sheet Metal Worker to join our construction and restoration team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, fabricating, and repairing sheet metal components across various projects. This role requires a strong understanding of blueprints, schematics, and construction practices, with the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to diverse projects including building restoration, HVAC systems, and custom metal fabrication.
Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, bend, and install sheet metal components according to project specifications and blueprints
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans to ensure precise fabrication and installation
- Use hand tools such as snips, drills, and wrenches to shape and assemble sheet metal parts
- Perform welding, caulking, and sealing to ensure airtight and weatherproof installations
- Assist with drywall installation, flooring, tile laying, plumbing, carpentry, and construction painting as needed for project completion
- Conduct maintenance and repairs on existing sheet metal systems during restoration projects
- Collaborate with other trades such as plumbing and carpentry teams to coordinate project tasks
- Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to safety protocols at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction or sheet metal work is preferred; construction experience in general is a plus
- Proficiency with hand tools and familiarity with schematics or technical drawings
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, drywall installation, caulking, welding, flooring installation, tile laying, plumbing, carpentry, restoration work, and construction painting is highly desirable
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical instructions accurately
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work safely in a construction environment while following all safety guidelines
- Physical capability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 pounds), stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks
- Prior experience with flooring or tile installation is advantageous but not mandatory
