Position: Food Safety and Quality Assurance Coordinator Location: Rosthern, Saskatchewan
Position Description
Horizon Manufacturing Inc. is seeking an individual that is highly motivated and detail oriented to work directly with our Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager and Coordinators to ensure that all aspects of the food safety program are being completed. Individuals must be willing to adapt for other tasks as directed and must be effective in adequately documenting and communicating activities conducted.
Responsibilities
- On-site inspections - Monitoring of production/sanitation activities- Testing/inspection of kibble and incoming ingredients - Record, review and completion of assigned documentation- Bring forward and assisting in any concerns that directly affect the safety and quality of kibble Experience and Education:- Grade 12 or equivalent is required - Previous experience in food safety and quality assurance is an asset but not a requirement- Previous experience in HACCP, Global Food Safety Initiative, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000:2005 are an asset but not a requirement Skills:- Must be a self starter that can organize time, priorities and problem-solve in real time- Must be a clear communicator - A detail-oriented individual with critical thinking skills and adapts quickly to changes- Must be a quick learner that can easily grasp new information- An ability to be collaborative with all departments- An unrelenting commitment to quality control and cleanliness- Punctual and reliable for scheduled shifts- Commitment to strong work ethic and accepts responsibility to continued learning
