Job Overview

Ultraprotect Security Inc. is seeking alert, professional, and dependable *Tactical Security Guards* to provide security services at assigned sites in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The ideal candidate will have strong situational awareness, excellent observation skills, and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe and secure environment. Candidates with experience in tactical security, retail security, loss prevention, or incident response will be considered an asset.

The successful candidate must be able to identify potential security risks, respond professionally to incidents, manage challenging situations using appropriate de-escalation techniques, and maintain a visible security presence. Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a high level of integrity are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular and proactive foot patrols to deter theft, vandalism, trespassing, and unauthorized access.
• Maintain a visible and professional security presence at assigned locations.
• Monitor CCTV systems, alarms, access control systems, and other security equipment where applicable.
• Identify suspicious behaviour, potential security threats, and safety concerns.
• Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents, disturbances, emergencies, and alarms.
• Assist with theft prevention, loss prevention, and the protection of client property and assets.
• Use verbal de-escalation, conflict resolution, and appropriate communication techniques to manage confrontational situations.
• Enforce site-specific rules, security procedures, and access control requirements.
• Assist clients, staff, and members of the public with security-related concerns.
• Contact police, emergency services, or company supervisors when necessary.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation.
• Inspect security equipment and report any malfunctions, hazards, or security concerns.
• Follow company policies, client instructions, site-specific post orders, and applicable Manitoba legislation.
• Maintain a professional appearance and wear the required uniform and equipment.
• Perform additional security-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Valid Manitoba Security Guard Licence required.
• Previous security experience is preferred.
• Strong observation, situational-awareness, and incident-response skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm, alert, and professional in stressful or confrontational situations.
• Knowledge of conflict resolution and verbal de-escalation techniques.
• Ability to prepare clear and accurate incident reports.
• Strong judgment, integrity, reliability, and professionalism.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically capable of conducting regular patrols and standing or walking for extended periods.
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays, as required.

Preferred Experience and Assets

The following qualifications and experience are considered assets:

• *Previous retail security experience*, including shoplifting prevention, theft deterrence, and loss prevention.
• Experience in tactical security, law enforcement, military, corrections, or related fields.
• Training in verbal de-escalation, conflict resolution, and appropriate use-of-force procedures.
• Experience with CCTV monitoring, surveillance systems, and access control.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Experience responding to security incidents and preparing detailed reports.
