Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced *Construction Laborer* with hands-on skills in *carpentry and drywall installation* to assist on active job sites.
Hours & Schedule Dynamics
- Work ranges between *20 and 40 hours per week*, with initial schedules usually averaging around *20 hours per week*.
- Total weekly hours and pay rates are performance- and skill-driven: team members who demonstrate higher technical competency, clean execution, and high autonomy will be prioritized for full-time schedule availability (up to 40 hrs/week).
Mandatory Requirements (Must Meet to Apply)
- *Experience:* Minimum *2 years of proven construction experience* (specifically with carpentry and drywall).
- *Required Personal Gear & Tools:* Must bring your own basic hand tools to job sites, including a *tape measure* and *carpenter pencils*.
- *Required PPE:* Must supply and wear your own personal protective equipment from day one, including *CSA-approved steel-toe boots, work gloves, and safety glasses*.
- *Physical Capability:* Must be physically capable of repeatedly lifting and carrying heavy construction materials up to *80?100 lbs *using safe lifting techniques or assisted team lifts throughout the workday.
- *Transportation:* Must have reliable transportation to travel directly to various job sites.
Key Responsibilities
- *Carpentry Support:* Assist with rough framing, structural modifications, trim work, sheet goods, and general wood structures.
- *Drywall Work:* Transport, hang, cut, and fit drywall boards cleanly on walls and ceilings.
- *Heavy Material Handling:* Safely load, unload, stack, and move heavy materials, lumber, drywall sheets, and equipment around job sites.
- *Site Preparation & Cleanup:* Perform manual demolition, debris removal, setup, and job site maintenance.
- *Independent Task Execution:* Complete assigned tasks efficiently with minimal oversight after brief site walkthroughs.
