We are conducting our required Canadian recruitment and screening well in advance specifically for this March 15, 2027 operational cycle. Candidates must be fully available to begin permanent, full-time employment on March 15, 2027.
Job Summary
We are seeking detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Vegetable Pickers for our upcoming 2027 operational cycle. This permanent, full-time position operates on our farm facility and encompasses potato grading, sorting, seed potato cutting, and preparation for planting, as well as packing table potatoes for market distribution.
Responsibilities & Job Duties
- Perform seed cutting and prepare agricultural seed potatoes according to farm and planting standards.
- Stand at grading conveyor lines to manually sort, grade, and select fruits and vegetables based on quality, size, and readiness.
- Safely divide fresh harvested produce into marketable lots and remove substandard or defective items.
- Pack fruits and vegetables into designated containers, bags, or crates for shipping and distribution.
- Maintain clean and sanitized immediate work areas in accordance with farm food safety guidelines.
Employment Requirements & Physical Capabilities
- *Education:* No minimum education requirements (No degree, certificate, or diploma required).
- *Experience:* No experience required; employer will provide full operational training.
- *Language:* No language required.
- *Physical Demands:* Physically demanding role requiring manual dexterity, hand-eye co-ordination, attention to detail, and the ability to distinguish between colours. Must be comfortable standing for extended periods and handling heavy loads (regularly lifting up to 50 lbs).
- *Transportation:* Public transportation is not available to 10533 Longwoods Rd. Candidates must have reliable own transportation to arrive at the physical location for shifts starting as early as 5:00 AM.
