We're looking for a skilled, dependable Journeyman Trailer Technician to join our small, friendly team in Spruce Grove, Alberta.
Our shop works on light-duty trailers and holiday trailers, along with light- and medium-duty vehicles. Our work includes trailer inspections (CVIP), mechanical repairs, brakes, suspension, spring work, welding, towing products, and electrical troubleshooting.
We're looking for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, can work independently, communicates well, and can be counted on to show up and get the job done right.

- Consistent 40-hour workweek
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Job responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair light-duty trailers and holiday trailers
- Diagnose and troubleshoot trailer electrical systems, wiring, lighting, and related components
- Perform welding, fabrication, and trailer repairs using appropriate methods and procedures
- Inspect and repair trailer brakes, suspension, axles, hubs, bearings, and related mechanical components, as applicable
- Repair trailer frames, brackets, and other components where appropriate
- Identify safety concerns and communicate recommended repairs
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship
- Verify repairs and perform quality-control checks before returning equipment to service
- Communicate job progress, additional repair needs, and unexpected delays to management
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
- Assist with other shop duties as required, depending on workload and qualifications
*This position focuses on light-duty trailers and holiday trailers. *Duties may change depending on shop requirements, workload, and the successful candidate's qualifications and experience.
Qualifications and experience
- Journeyman trade qualification
- Practical experience working on light-duty trailers and holiday trailers
- *Welding ability is required*, including the ability to perform trailer repairs safely and competently
- *Electrical diagnostic ability is required*, including troubleshooting wiring, lighting, and electrical faults
- Knowledge of trailer brakes, suspension, axles, hubs, bearings, and related systems
- Ability to diagnose problems accurately and complete repairs with minimal supervision
- Good understanding of safe work practices and quality-control procedures
- Strong communication, time-management, and organizational skills
- Own hand tools; major shop equipment and specialty tools provided
Assets
- Previous experience performing CVIP inspections
- Experience with trailer inspection procedures and applicable safety standards
- Experience with trailer wiring, towing connections, and electrical systems
