About this role
Overview
We are seeking a casual Healthcare Aid to provide high quality support and care to an elderly couple. The caregiver will work one to three 24 hour shifts when required. It is an asleep overnight position.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in caregiving, with a focus on senior and memory care. Good communication skills are required.
This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through attentive and respectful care.
A driver's license is required.
Duties
- Assist the individuals with personal care including showering, dressing and grooming.
- Administer medication following prescribed schedules and safety protocols
- Do meal preparation and assist with eating as needed.
- Drive the couple to church, appointments and shopping using the couple's vehicle.
- Provide light housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
- Monitor health status and report any changes or concerns to coordinator.
- Document care in a daily journal.
