About this role
Hinterland Growers is a family operated small-scale, sustainable farm using a model of ecological, polyculture farming to grow organic produce (primarily vegetables). We start all plants from seed on-site, which are then grown in a field or greenhouse environment. Once harvested, the mixed vegetables are carefully cleaned, inspected, sorted and packaged by hand.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Clean the crops
- Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to the size, shape, colour and volume to fetch high price in market.
- Hand harvesting vegetables
- Plant, cultivate and irrigate crops
- Weeding
- Clean work area
- Fertilize and spray crops
- Harvest crops
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
- Examine product for quality and its readiness for the market
Fluent English is an asset
7 months or more experience in vegetable farming is mandatory
No education required
This is a full time seasonal position for the 2027 season.
