About this role
Are you passionate about solving complex technical challenges where every byte of memory matters? As an Embedded Software Engineer C++, you will join an experienced team focused on developing deeply embedded firmware for our next generation of hearing devices (medical devices). This is an opportunity to apply your deep C++ expertise in embedded development. You will work close to the hardware, navigate complex, state-of-the-art development and test environments, and solve challenging problems across the boundaries of software, tooling and hardware.
- More about the role Develop object-oriented embedded software in modern C++ for resource-constrained wireless hearing devices.
- Contribute to the design and architecture of new functionality, working closely with software architects and interdisciplinary platform teams.
- Develop, document, test, integrate and maintain software throughout the development lifecycle, while ensuring appropriate test coverage and reliable system behavior.
- Debug complex issues directly on target hardware and in simulators.
- Work within state-of-the-art development, build and test environments and contribute to their continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across mobile and desktop software, firmware, verification and requirements engineering to bring new hearing solutions from concept to product.
- More about you You have excellent embedded software C++ development know-how, including operating systems, concurrency, communication, distributed systems, and object-oriented design, combined with 5+ years of professional experience.
- You have developed software for highly resource-constrained systems, with limited memory and battery power.
- You are skilled in debugging and comfortable investigating complex issues on actual hardware, including situations where the root cause may lie in software, hardware or the development environment.
- You are familiar with modern embedded software engineering practices and development environments and continuous integration.
- Knowledge of Python, C#, test frameworks or related tooling is an advantage.
- You hold a university degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, the natural sciences, or a comparable technical discipline and communicate confidently in English; knowledge of German is a plus.
- More about what we offer As one of the world’s leading hearing care providers headquartered in Switzerland, we’re committed to building an inclusive culture.
- We want to create an environment where you can balance a successful career with your commitments and interests outside of work, through our flexible hybrid working model.
