Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Animal hospital.
Tasks
Collect samples and perform other laboratory tests. Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery. Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under direction of veterinarian. May perform a variety of office management and clerical duties. Perform routine animal dental procedures and assist veterinarians with animal dentistry. Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals. Provide wound and bandage care. Experience: 1 to less than 7 months. Employment terms options: Morning. Day.
