Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. At heights. Aerial surveys. Crop dusting and spraying. Forest firefighting. Work setting: Staff accommodation provided.
Tasks
- Fly fixed wing aircrafts or helicopters.
- Monitor operation of engine and aircraft systems during flight.
- Co-ordinate flight activities with ground crews and air-traffic control, inform crew members of flight and test procedures and direct activities of aircraft crew during flights.
- Conduct in-flight tests and monitor functioning of aircraft equipment and systems during flights.
- Contact control towers for takeoff clearances, arrival instructions and other information.
- Maintain communications with flight dispatchers and weather forecasters and respond to and report in-flight emergencies and malfunctions.
- Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Commercial Pilot Licence - fixed wing.
- Specialization or experience: Specialized environmental skills and knowledge.
- Security and safety: Criminal record check.
- Medical exam.
