Main duties of the job

As a Housekeeper at Elysium Healthcare, you will focus on maintaining a clean and safe environment for vulnerable individuals at Potters Bar Clinic. Your role will involve cleaning all areas of the clinic, such as wards, offices, bedrooms, and visitor areas, ensuring high standards of hygiene are maintained. You will work closely with the maintenance team to keep the facility spotless. The position is full-time, with 37.5 hours per week, where you will be part of a team with responsibilities for daily operations. Your tasks include maintaining security standards, establishing positive relationships with staff and visitors, and attending mandatory training. The ideal candidate will have previous cleaning experience in a similar environment, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Job responsibilities

Working closely with the maintenance team you’ll ensure all areas of the service are spotless and be able to confidently deliver high standard cleaning services.

This is a full time position of 37.5 hours a week.

As a Housekeeper you will be

• Maintaining required security standards of the hospital by following relevant policies and procedures as defined by the Hospital.
• An active member of the team with a range of responsibility over the day-to-day operation.
• Maintaining excellent telephone etiquette and ability to meet and greeting visitors in a professional manner.
• Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with all staff, visitors and service users.
• Helping create a positive culture.
• Undertaking any other tasks requested that are appropriate for the post.
• Attending mandatory and statutory training on an annual basis as required by Elysium Healthcare.

Potters Bar Clinic comprises two acute mental health wards for adult men and women, and two CAMHS Tier 4 low secure wards for young people aged 13-18.

Located in a residential area, Potters Bar Clinic is only a one minute drive from the M25 and a short bus ride from Potters Bar Train Station with a bus stop right outside, making it an easy commute for most.
