The successful candidate will create a welcoming environment where children feel safe, valued and engaged in a range of stimulating activities. Experience of working within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is essential, as a significant proportion of our children attend from Reception age.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships with children and families and who understands the developmental needs of young learners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise children attending the breakfast and/or after-school club, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
  • Deliver a range of engaging activities that promote creativity, physical activity, social development and enjoyment.
  • Support the needs of children providing age-appropriate experiences and interactions.
  • Foster positive behaviour and encourage children to develop confidence, independence and resilience.
  • Prepare and serve healthy snacks and ensure high standards of food hygiene are maintained.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
  • Maintain accurate registers and follow safeguarding, health and safety and school policies.
  • Set up and tidy away equipment and resources each session.
  • Support children with additional needs where required.
  • Contribute to creating a warm, inclusive and nurturing environment that reflects the school's values.

We Are Looking For Someone Who

  • Has experience working with primary-aged children, would be wonderful if some of that is within the EYFS.
  • Has a good understanding of child development and the needs of young children.
  • Is warm, caring and enthusiastic.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Can use their initiative and remain calm under pressure.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Holds a relevant childcare qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Has previous experience in a school, nursery, childcare or wraparound setting.

We Can Offer

  • Friendly and supportive colleagues.
  • Wonderful children who are eager to learn and have fun.
  • Opportunities for training and professional development.
  • A welcoming school community where every member of staff is valued.

Wellesbourne CE Primary School is a welcoming and ambitious two form entry school community where staff are supported to grow professionally while making a meaningful difference to children's learning, wellbeing and personal development. We are proud of our caring Christian ethos, high expectations and collaborative team culture, creating an environment where both pupils and staff can thrive and succeed together.
