Requirements
- Strong experience in business analysis, requirements gathering and process mapping.
- Experience delivering Kimball-style semantic or data models, including facts and dimensions.
- Strong understanding of data architecture and data modelling.
- Experience using SQL to interrogate relational or cloud-based data.
- Experience with business intelligence and data visualisation technologies, ideally Power BI.
- Ability to explain complex technical and data requirements in clear business language.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience working with senior stakeholders and technical teams.
- Understanding of data quality, governance and GDPR.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Snowflake, dbt, Azure, Power BI semantic models, Agile delivery or higher education is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Lead requirements-gathering workshops with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications for data, reporting and analytics solutions.
- Analyse existing reporting and business processes, identifying opportunities to improve, consolidate or replace legacy solutions.
- Work with data engineers and analysts to ensure business requirements are accurately reflected in technical solutions.
- Support the design and implementation of data models and Power BI semantic models.
- Produce process maps, data models, data lineage and technical documentation.
- Support User Acceptance Testing by defining acceptance criteria and ensuring solutions meet business requirements.
- Help drive adoption of new reporting and analytics capabilities across the organisation.
