Salary: £90,000 - 95,000 per year
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with Python and Snowflake
- Experience mentoring or technically leading other engineers
- Experience with dbt, Airflow, or similar data engineering tools
- Good understanding of data modelling and modern data platform architecture
- Experience with AWS or another major cloud platform
- Ability to turn business problems into sensible technical solutions
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical direction of the Data Engineering squad and help define engineering standards and best practices
- Design and build scalable data pipelines using Python, SQL, and Snowflake
- Work with Architecture and Engineering to solve complex data problems
- Help evolve our Enterprise Data Platform, including data modelling, integrations, performance, and reliability
- Use cloud technologies to move and process data into Snowflake
- Mentor and support data engineers and help raise engineering standards across the team
- Contribute to decisions about how our platform evolves

We are working with a leading international retailer investing heavily in its data platform and seeking a Data Engineering Tech Lead to help shape the next stage of its Enterprise Data Platform. This is a hands-on technical leadership role within a small data engineering squad, combining technical ownership, engineering, and leadership.
