Salary: £50,000 - 52,000 per year
Requirements
- Significant experience in a senior QA role, including direct line management of testing staff.
- Demonstrated success moving a QA function from manual to automated testing.
- Hands-on proficiency with modern automation frameworks such as Playwright or Selenium.
- Practical experience of automated testing within Salesforce, including challenges such as shadow DOM, dynamic IDs and locators, and conditional rendering.
- Strong coding skills in languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript or Java, and confidence working with HTML, CSS and JSON payloads.
- Strong logical reasoning and system-level troubleshooting skills across interconnected cloud environments.
- Thorough understanding of agile delivery and CI/CD pipelines, with experience using tools such as Bitbucket and Jira.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical matters and write clear documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Management training or qualifications would be helpful.
- Experience using UTAM (Salesforce UI Test Automation Model) would be helpful.
- Experience implementing AI-driven test generation would be helpful.
- Candidates must be based in the UK or Spain and have the right to work in their respective country.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and coach our existing manual testers, setting clear performance goals, balancing workloads and supporting their development.
- Define and deliver our transition from manual testing to a robust automated testing framework, including AI-driven test generation.
- Carry out manual regression, functional, UX and integration testing to build product knowledge and help address testing backlogs.
- Design, develop and optimise scalable automated test suites using frameworks such as Playwright and UTAM.
- Ensure stability across Salesforce managed packages and custom configurations, addressing the platforms automation constraints.
- Partner with our Implementation and Release colleagues to extend automation to customer upgrades and implementations, and communicate QA progress.
- Help write and review product documentation, changelogs and policies alongside our Product team.

This hands-on QA Lead role is part of our Product Development department and offers the opportunity to shape product quality across our product suite, influence how we work and contribute to an open, collaborative team. The role is available remotely in the UK or Spain, or on a hybrid basis in Cambridge, UK.
