Salary: £90,000 - 115,000 per year
Requirements
- We seek an established Technical Lead, Principal Engineer, Staff Engineer or equivalent with strong hands-on software development and technical leadership experience.
- We require experience designing enterprise-scale systems across multiple teams or platforms.
- We require broad full-stack knowledge across frontend, backend, APIs, databases and cloud.
- We value a strong understanding of microservices, distributed systems and event-driven architecture.
- We seek experience with cloud platforms, ideally AWS, and tools such as Docker, Kubernetes or Terraform.
- We require knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, DevOps and production support.
- We value the ability to influence technical decisions, mentor engineers and communicate with senior stakeholders.
- We welcome experience with a selection of these technologies: TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, React, Go, Rust, PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB, AWS CDK, serverless systems, GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical architecture and direction across multiple teams and platforms.
- Guide architectural decisions covering scalability, security, performance and reliability.
- Contribute hands-on through coding, code reviews and complex technical problem-solving.
- Drive platform modernisation and reduce technical debt.
- Establish engineering standards, coding practices and automated testing.
- Champion CI/CD, DevOps, infrastructure as code and cloud-native development.
- Mentor engineers and technical leads, influencing decisions across teams.
- Work with senior stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives.
- Support production systems through troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
