Job summary
Cumberland House Surgery is looking for a Maternity Locum to cover 6 sessions at our practice for 26 weeks starting towards the end of December 2026.
Main duties of the job
The GP will be required to work autonomously, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care.
Sessions are as follows:-
- Monday 2 sessions.
- Tuesday 2 sessions.
- Thursday 2 sessions.
- Home visits will be required on each of these days up to a maximum of 2 each day.
About us
Cumberland House is a well established practice within a purpose build medical centre with 5 other practices.
The practice uses EMIS web and AccuRx to manage our appointments. We have a high QOF achievement.
Our team consists of 6 partners, 7 salaried doctors, 4 practice nurses, 1 HCA, a pharmacist, pharmacy technician and a Physician Associate.
We hold regular clinical meetings for all clinical staff to distribute information and encourage collaboration across the practice.

The successful applicant's working day will include a variety of duties including:
- Face to face consultations, telephone consultations and home visits.
- Signing prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence.
- Provide high quality patient care.
- Excellent communication with patients and colleagues.
- Manage your own time, workload and resources.
- Help maintain QOF scores, contributing to targeted clinics or audits where required.

Qualifications
Essential
- Qualified GP (Evidence of CCT/JCPTGP)
- Full GMC registration.
- Performers list registration.
