Job Title: Contract Manufacturing EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer with extensive CNC machining expertise to support our operations during a temporary medical leave. This role will focus on machining process documentation, CNC setup optimization, and shop-floor troubleshooting. The ideal candidate is someone who can immediately contribute to the team without requiring extensive ramp-up time.
Responsibilities
- Develop and update CNC machining setup sheets for lathes and mills, ensuring accuracy and repeatability.
- Create work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for machining processes currently reliant on tribal knowledge.
- Troubleshoot machining issues on the shop floor, collaborating directly with machinists to resolve problems efficiently.
- Verify proper machine setup and ensure process adherence, guaranteeing parts are correctly dialed in and not run incorrectly.
- Capture undocumented processes by shadowing shop floor employees and formalizing their knowledge into documentation.
Essential Skills
- Strong CNC metal machining background with experience in mills and/or lathes.
- Proven ability to create setup sheets, SOPs, and machining documentation.
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience on the shop floor.
- Capability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-mix machining environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with CNC machines, CNC mills, CNC lathes, routers, and setup activities.
- Manufacturing or Process Engineering experience.
- background in working with metals.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment is fast-paced and high-mix, requiring a hands-on approach and the ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances. The candidate will work directly on the shop floor, collaborating with machinists and capturing tribal knowledge for documentation purposes.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Twinsburg, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
