Keeping DHL’s global IT infrastructure reliable, secure, and available is at the heart of what we do. As a Windows Server Support Specialist, you will:

  • Provide second-level operational support for a large enterprise Windows Server environment and take ownership of incidents that require deeper technical investigation and troubleshooting.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across Windows Server operating systems and their core infrastructure components. When problems span multiple technologies, you will collaborate with other infrastructure, network, security, database, application, and engineering teams to identify root causes and restore services efficiently.
  • Your responsibilities will also include implementing approved changes, supporting server deployments and lifecycle activities, maintaining technical documentation, and contributing to the continuous improvement and automation of operational processes. Where required, you will work with technology vendors to investigate product defects, security vulnerabilities, firmware or driver issues, and other complex technical problems.
  • Your technology landscape will include Microsoft Windows Server, PowerShell automation, Active Directory, DNS, DFS, File and Print Services, security and compliance, remote server management, patching, monitoring, and enterprise infrastructure technologies.
  • Security is an integral part of the role. You will help ensure that Windows Servers remain compliant with corporate security.

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server administration and troubleshooting, ideally gained in a medium or large enterprise environment.
  • You understand how to troubleshoot Windows systems beyond the GUI and are comfortable working with tools such as PowerShell, Event Viewer, Windows services, registry, performance counters, networking tools, logs, and remote management interfaces.
  • Good PowerShell skills are highly valued. You should be comfortable reading and modifying existing scripts, automating repetitive administrative tasks, and using PowerShell for troubleshooting and configuration.
  • Experience with Git or another version-control system is an advantage.

You should have practical knowledge in several of the following areas:

  • Microsoft Windows Server administration and troubleshooting
  • PowerShell scripting and automation
  • Active Directory and Group Policy
  • DNS and name-resolution troubleshooting
  • DFS, File Services and Print Services
  • Windows security, permissions and authentication

  • Remote management technologies such as WinRM and PowerShell Remoting
  • Server virtualization, particularly VMware or Hyper-V
  • Enterprise monitoring and infrastructure management tools
  • Troubleshooting of system performance, services, storage, and operating-system related issues
  • Experience with cloud or hybrid technologies, configuration management, infrastructure automation, REST APIs, Git, or Microsoft Azure is welcome but not required.
  • You are comfortable taking ownership of technical issues, working independently, and knowing when to involve other specialists.
  • Good spoken and written English is essential.
