Position: Senior Backend Engineer
Contract: B2B – Remote (EU Only)
Rate: up to 30 EUR/hour + 20 paid vacation days

Responsibilities
Design and build scalable backend systems for processing large volumes of spare parts dataDevelop and maintain robust, high-performance APIs for data integration and accessBuild, optimize, and maintain ETL pipelines for data ingestion and transformationProcess and manage large datasets in distributed environmentsOptimize system performance, latency, and throughput across backend servicesImprove database performance through indexing, schema design, and query optimizationCollaborate with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to deliver scalable solutionsWork closely with stakeholders to define and implement data-driven functionalitiesEnsure high standards of security, reliability, scalability, and maintainabilityMentor and support other engineers as part of a senior-level engineering roleStay up to date with modern backend technologies, architecture patterns, and engineering best practicesRequirements
Tech stack & requirementsStrong commercial experience with JVM-based languages such as Java, Scala, or KotlinSolid experience with relational databases, including PostgreSQL and MySQLExperience working with NoSQL databases, preferably MongoDBHands-on experience processing and managing large datasetsStrong knowledge of scalable API design and backend architecture principlesExperience designing distributed and high-performance systemsPractical experience building ETL pipelines using standard data processing toolsExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or AzureStrong understanding of performance optimization and low-latency systemsExperience with database optimization, including indexing, schema design, and performance tuningStrong problem-solving and communication skillsSenior-level mindset with the ability to mentor and support engineering teamsEnglish at C1 levelMust be based in the European UnionBenefits
